Not So Important?

One imagines John McCain will be tripping over his own tongue trying to bite back those words, don’t you think?  I posted earlier in the year, asking why on earth any veteran would vote for McCain, since he has a lousy record in matters that mean the most to former service members.

Now, I have to ask, why would any current service member commit themselves to him as a possible Commander in Chief?  Why would any family member of a military member vote for a man who thinks it is less important to bring them home, than just keeping the death count as low as (im)possible?  But perhaps he thinks the DOD can keep hiding the bodies, so to speak?

After all, some American service members have been listed as ‘multi-national force members’ so as to not put their names on the DOD lists of the dead.  Also, people who die after being released from their initial hospital visits for war wounds don’t get put on the list—even though the injury in Afghanistan or Iraq is inarguably the cause of the death.  And suicides, well, we know how well they do NOT keep track of them, right?  If enough trickery with numbers can be managed, maybe we can just get Americans to completely forget the thousands of young soldiers far from home and in harms way?  Is that the ticket, John?  Really?

And why would women vote for McCain?  He dumped his first wife and married a rich bimbo who looks damn near as Stepford-wife as Laura Bush did the last few months.  He doesn’t care if your sons or daughters rot in that sandbox war started by George Bush.  Even if you are disappointed by Clinton not getting the nomination, why, oh why, would you hand the White House to John McCain?  We used to call that kind of choice ‘cutting off your nose to spite your face.’

Why would any young American vote for John McCain?  He doesn’t even know enough about the area where we are at war to know the Sunni and Shia Moslems have been at each other’s throats for over a thousand years, how can he resolve this war?  His wife is rich enough he doesn’t need to worry about the economy for his own sake, so do you think he will care if YOU can’t find work?   He misquotes his opponent, Obama, as having said that small town Americans “cling to religion and the Constitution” out of bitterness.  Trust me, I do cling to the Constitution IN bitterness for the last seven years. But that was not what Obama said…..he didn’t even mention the Constitution; so McCain not only can’t keep his talking points straight, but he slips in such Olympic grade Freudian style as to make me spew coffee across the living room rug!?

They say white men are voting for McCain.  Really?  Why would you guys do that, if that statement is true?  You entrust your job to a guy who takes a 100% disability pension from the Veterans Administration every month, while married to a wealthy woman?  When young men who have lost limbs, sight, and gods know what else cannot get 100% because the VA is so strapped for funds?  Why?  Do you think he gives a good damn about anything but himself?  Don’t you think, when listening to how confused and disconnected he sounds speaking on the campaign trail, that maybe he is meant to be the next puppet for the cabal of rich guys who pulled the strings on Bush?  Look around, guys, how did that work for you?  Are you really better off than you were seven years ago?

Why would ANYone vote for John McCain?  He who said knowing when the troops might be brought home from Iraq is “not so important.”  Well, not to him, perhaps.

I tell you what is not so important to me—John McCain’s desire to be President.  He doesn’t deserve even one try, not even to get close.  Shut up and go home John, call your wife some more names, collect your VA pension and leave the governance of the country to someone who thinks the troops fighting the war and when they come home IS important.
