And I have this bridge for sale, too. I have to vent here a bit before I do a Vesuvius immitation.

I can already hear the outcry. Back in October, some asshat with a grudge pulled up alongside a Seattle police car and shot the officer in the driver’s seat. He died.

And almost a month later, in Lakewood, a man walked into a coffee shop and shot four officers doing their morning coffee and computer set-up for the day. They all died.

And now, on the Winter’s Solstice, a man who has been in trouble with the police numerous times, waited at his house in Eatonville for the police to arrive in response to a domestic violence call and opened fire upon them. They returned fire and killed their attacker. Both officers are hospitalized.

But the hue and cry will be raised; I have already heard it about the November shooting—that it was all so “THEY can take our guns away.”
Good grief. Really? What, liberals like me who think some sanity to gun laws could be a good thing….WE are the ones responsible? Cause I certainly don’t recall going out and shooting any police officers.

But I am the bad guy because I wonder how folks crazy enough to shoot cops who challenge their dearly held ideas on being allowed to beat the shit out of family members (for example) ever get guns in the first place? I have already had people tell me they don’t believe the account of the shootings in November—get this “because that is just too ‘neat’ isn’t it?” Seriously? Are you fucking LIVING in a comic book or something?

Every time some nutcake or habitual asshole shoots a cop, we are to believe YOUR version of reality that it is all a lie, a plot to “take guns away”? You can’t possibly conceive the idea that yes, SOME people who own guns are not happy hunters and patriots, but instead are dyed-in-the-crap bad guys, nuts, and assholes? You can’t possibly conceive of a world where someone should prove before buying killing power and ammo of numerous types that you are not a murderous nutcake?

WTF? Really? What are we to believe then? That the seven cops shot locally in the last three months are either (1) Not shot, it was all a lie. The ones supposedly dead are living in Tahiti on the proceeds of liberal fund-raising to kill the second amendment, or (2) Oh, they are dead—shot by evil liberal stooges, to (yes, of course) kill the second amendment, or (3) Yes, they are dead, killed by bad guys—but you stupid liberals are using this for political purposes to kill the second amendment.

Right. Because NRA supporting GOP sorts never used any public events to make political hay, right? Because there couldn’t possibly be any REAL reason for examining how laws on gun ownership are being applied or not, right? Because actually protecting the populace AND the protectors (the police) couldn’t just possibly be a perfectly legitimate goal for ANYone….liberal or otherwise, right?

I am so sick of everything being a damned rhetorical point in stupid assed screaming matches, with the real events and the real importance being left in the dust. Yes, I AM a liberal. Yes, I DO want to take your gun from you. And then, if you are one of the mouth-breathing morons screaming about the 2nd Amendment before it is even know if the latest gunshot cops will survive or not?

I want to beat you senseless with that gun of yours. Grow a brain, stop being a dick and shut the fuck UP.
